Kelly Oxford Lies to Olivia Wilde MONDAY, APRIL 1 AT 7:00PM A conversation about Oxford’s new book, Everything Is Perfect When You’re a Liar. (via Kelly Oxford Lies to Olivia Wilde - Events — Housing Works)
Too late for most people, but just in case you’re in Soho right now. And reading tumblr.

I’m not the biggest coffee fan in the world. But it’s hard to avoid it when you live and work around these places (not to mention the Jack’s and the Fika shops way downtown.
The best coffee shop, ever, was Murky Coffee, in my hometown of Arlington, VA. It’s closed now, but it was by far the best coffee, and the best vibe I’ve ever had, anywhere. But 9th Street Espresso is close (the people at Murky told me to try it when I first moved up to NYC), and Cafe Grumpy and Joe are both really good, too (I’d give the friendliness nod to the staff at Joe, and the coffee care nod to Grumpy). I’ve never tried Stumptown. Grey Dog is good, but the Chelsea shop is way more than coffee (they make a great pb&j, if you ever need one). I also kind of liked City Girl and Ground Support in Soho.
Oddly, the whole time I worked in midtown, I never found a good coffee shop that was inside the boundaries between 46th and 57th, and Lexington and 6th. But now, I guess, they’ve opened a Blue Bottle in Rock Center, so that’s an option. Now that I don’t work there anymore.
Now they’ve just opened a Blue Bottle coffee shop near me. I haven’t tried it yet, but I worry that it’s not going to make things any easier for me if I ever try to cut back.
People who don’t live in NYC (or Virginia) won’t care about any of this.
