Keep in mind, that’s at 8:06pm local time… And, yes, that’s Fahrenheit.
Not New York, but New York New York, in Las Vegas, probably from 1998? I think so, anyway
Hmmm, this Las Vegas-based company is going to publish a magazine titled “New Yorker Times Magazine”? What could possibly go wrong with that plan?
Well, basic grammar, for one. Here are 2 sentences from their Craigslist help wanted ad: “This is a great time if you can write 500-700 words per article 3-5 times a day or week. Writer need to be committed.” [note, that is copied verbatim, and all the confusing language and suspect grammar is actually in the ad. The ad placed by a magazine calling itself “The New Yorker Times Magazine”. As my mother used to say when she saw something exasperating like this, “Oh, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!”
ETA: look closely at the ‘Y’ in the magazine logo. At least a 50/50 chance this whole thing is a joke, although the Romenesko story says if you follow the links you do get routed to a newspublisher in Las Vegas, so who knows?
Not Paris, but Paris, Las Vegas, April 2005
