Worth noting, this tweet was in response to ABC News reporting that a ‘Jim Homes’ of Aurora was a member of the Tea Party, although they had no reason to think it was the same person as the shooter. The irresponsibility on all sides of this is a little breath-taking. But only a little. It happens pretty much every time. Drudge should’ve made the humor point a little more obvious to the casual reader, but the point is still fair. One reporter says he’s a tea party member? The radical right wing will counter that by claiming he’s a democrat. No one is helped, or informed, and it just serves to make people’s blood boil a little. And, you can bet a lot of Drudge’s readers assume this tweet is true, or even remotely relevant.
